Junior Football - U9 to U12

The focus for this age group is team training that focuses on skill development to encourage children to be comfortable on the ball, as well as introduce basic football tactics and teamwork.

We are entering teams in the following grades for the 2024 season

• U9 Mixed
• U9 Girls
• U10 Mixed
• U10 Girls
• U11 Mixed
• U12 Mixed

The grade you register your child in is the age they will turn in 2024 (11 years old in 2024 will be 11th grade). Depending on numbers there may be slight changes to this but we will let you know after registration.

Game Day

U9/U10 play 7v7 with goalkeepers on quarter-pitches for a duration of 50 minutes. Home games are played on Saturday mornings at Mangere Mountain, Domian Road, Mangere Bridge.

U11/U12 play 9v9 with goalkeepers on half-pitches for a duration of 55 minutes. Home games are played on Saturday mornings at Mangere Mountain, Domian Road, Mangere Bridge.

All players will need the below, the club provides your playing shirt.

Academy
The Mountaineers Academy is a stand-alone weekly training with dedicated session leaders overseen by OFC licensed coaches. Specific, age-appropriate content is delivered to Academy participants in a Fun, Enjoyable Environment to increase their understanding, confidence and mastery of the game.

Dates
The season starts on Saturday 27 April 2024 and will continue until the 21st of September. Games will be scheduled for each Saturday except on 1 June (KBD weekend) and 13 July (school holidays).  Competition dates are below:
